Oct. 21 - Field Trip to The Met's Armenia! Exhibit

This Sunday, we took a field trip to The Met museum to visit the new Armenia! exhibit.

If you haven't had a chance to visit yet, there's still time! The exhibit is around through January 13, 2019. You can also learn more about the objects and listen to the audio guides online.

Visiting the exhibition was so exciting for our group, especially because we were able to see some of the things we learn about in Sunday School. The khachkar to the right is an example of this, which has 4 icons at the bottom representing the four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) -- a topic we covered in the prior class!

We also learned about some specific objects we usually see in church, such as hanging censors (poorvars) and a liturgical book stand (which the priest uses during his sermon).
